House Begins Blagojevich Impeachment Process, Lou Lang Appointed a Chief Questioner

(Springfield, IL) — There are 12 House Democrats and 9 Republicans on the impeachment committee to  investigate allegations of misfeasance, nonfeasance, and other misconduct against Governor Rod  Blagojevich.

House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) has House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie (D-Chicago) as Committee Chair. Currie said that the panel’s investigation will include allegations contained in the complaint filed by federal investigators as well as other issues.

Assistant House Majority Leader Lou Lang (D-Skokie) has been appointed one of the chief questioners.

  1. Blagojevich has been so successful at making himself and his office look ridiculous that about a million people are now able to remember and maybe even spell his crazy name — that’s sort of like an accomplishment, right?
