Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence Endorses Rep. Lou Lang

(Skokie, IL) – The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence political action committee in Illinois has endorsed State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie) for reelection to the Illinois House.

The Brady PAC-IL, which supports candidates and elected officials who support an agenda of common sense and responsible gun ownership, issued the following statement:

“Representative Lou Lang is committed to commons sense gun violence prevention measures, such as fixing the background check system to keep prohibited purchasers from having access to firearms, and requiring gun owners to report when a weapon is lost or stolen. Representative Lang has earned the Brady PAC-IL 2012 endorsement in the 16th State Representative District.”

Lang face GOP opponent and staunch conceal carry backer Vince Romano (R-Skokie) on November 6.

Citizen Action Illinois Rates Rep. Lou Lang “Excellent” on Illinois Legislative Score Card

(Chicago, IL) – A leading Illinois grass-roots public interest advocacy group today announced that State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie) won an “Excellent” cumulative rating on the organization’s Illinois Legislative Scorecard.

Citizen Action Illinois awarded Lang the ranking for his overall record in the Illinois General Assembly.

“Representative Lang has a proven record of voting for needed consumer reforms and protecting the working families of Illinois.” said William McNary, co-director, Citizen Action Illinois.

“That is why we proudly endorse his candidacy for state representative.”

The group’s ratings are based on the key votes for public interest issues in the General Assembly.

Illinois Auto Workers Union Endorses Lang for Reelection

(Lincolnshire, IL) — The political arm of the Illinois Auto Workers Union on August 19 endorsed State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie) for reelection to his 16th district Illinois House seat.

“We appreciate the work that you have done on behalf of working people in the past, and we look forward to working with you in the future,” wrote Illinois Region 4 Director Dennis Williams, notifying Lang of the endorsement.

The Illinois State CAP Council is the political organization of the United Auto Workers. It represents almost 70,000 Illinois members. 

Lang, an Assistant House Majority Leader, was first elected to the Illinois House in 1987.

The 16th House District includes parts of Skokie, Lincolnwood, and Morton Grove and parts of the 49th and 50th Wards in the City of Chicago.

In March 2006, Lang was elected Committeeman of the Niles Township Regular Democratic Organization.
